Morning Update

In: Carson Updates

Tues am -  Carson feels good.  He goes to have blood work tomorrow and check on his counts.  From there, the doctors will adjust his meds.

I took Carson to Legoland this past Sat and he displayed some of his free build (non- kits) Star Wars creations.  The local Star Wars group invited Carson to attend and display his work.  We had a nice time, went on a few rides, took in the sights and then left before it got too busy.  With low counts, we have to be cautious.

This week, Carson is attending a science camp.  He showed me his slime and other projects from his first day.

Pray for good numbers.

Morning Update

In: Carson Updates

Friday am- Carson is feeling good but some of his numbers came back low so we are on an elevated alert to avoid germs from others. The doctors are changing his meds a little. Some of the meds cause a decrease in numbers so they are making a small change. Carson goes back next Wed to have another blood checkup.

Otherwise, he is continuing with his summer lego camp. He also went flying with Papa yesterday after a sleep over. Last night he had a sleep over at a friend’s house. Next week, Carson will go to a “mad science” camp. School starts in 3 weeks.

Tomorrow, I am taking Carson to Lego land to display some of his creations and hang out with other creative lego builders.

Morning Update

In: Carson Updates

Tuesday morning -  Carson continues to feel great.  He did get sick the other night while taking his medicine, but that happens.  His strength is back and he is running around more each day.  He will be playing soccer this fall so we went and bought some new shoes, shin guards and a ball.  Practice starts at the end of the month.  No tackle football this year.

Carson is in a lego camp this week and loves it.  3 hours per day building new creative stuff.  I am taking him to Legoland this weekend to be a part of the SD Lego club that will have displays for the public viewing.  Carson is the only kid and was invited by the club after hearing about his extraordinary talent.  He just finished his latest battleship, 3,100 pieces for ages 16+.  I do not know how he does it.  He will ask me for help, I will turn to him and his reply is “forget it dad, you can’t do it.”

His hair growth is stubborn.  It took a long time to fall out and now a long time to start growing back.  Overall, he is feeling great.  He goes for blood work on Wed and we continue to give him his variety of meds.

Afternoon Update

In: Carson Updates

Thurs:  Carson is feeling great.  Last night we were guests of Make A Wish (MAW) and the SD Padres at the Padres game versus the LA Dodgers.  We arrived at 4:30pm and went straight down to the field.  Carson and 4 other boys from MAW got autographs, high fives, pictures and story telling from the players and Coach Buddy Black.  The players signed hats, balls, gloves and what ever else the boys wanted them to.  Some players came over one by one and some in groups of 5.  They all seemed to care and it was a joy more so for the players and coaching staff, than the little sluggers.

Then we got a tour of the stadium.  From underground the stadium, to the history, TV and broadcast areas, the umpires private locker room (we could not go in), the historical Western Metal Supply building and then into our private VIP suite.  The kids ate and drank and even got on the jumbo screen.

We even met up with Mark Grant from Channel 4 and he remembered the 28 second interview on Carson from a few weeks ago.  Carson is the Padres good luck charm…..  Padres won again, 6-1.

It was a fun day.
